Dental X-rays

Dentists reviewing dental x-rays on computer monitor at Crown Hill Smiles in Seattle, WAThe ADA recommends an an annual x-ray exam for most patients. Risk factors that determine the interval for radiographic exams include: active tooth decay, history of tooth decay, poor home care, poor diet, periodontal disease or family history, history of trauma to any teeth, history of root canal therapy, wisdom teeth still in place, developing teeth, and more.

Digital x-rays produce significantly less radiation than their conventional counterparts. These digital x-rays produce less radiation than a cell phone! We do not advise you to skip an x-ray exam based on a concern over radiation. If you have questions we are happy to talk with you in detail about x-ray safety and our dental technology.
